Today, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced it will commit $500 million over the next ten years to ensure all children – no matter who they are or where they live – can grow up at a healthy weight. This is a major step forward for the childhood obesity prevention movement!
“By 2025, we want to ensure that children in America grow up at a healthy weight, no matter who they are or where they live,” said RWJF President and CEO Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD.“We have made substantial progress, but there is far more to do and we can’t stop now. We all have a role to play in our homes, schools, and neighborhoods to ensure that all kids have healthy food and safe places to play.”
And we couldn’t agree more! RWJF’s renewed commitment is great news for the movement, but neither we nor they can do it alone―like Dr. Lavizzo-Mourey says, all of us have a role to play. As PreventObesity.net Leaders and Supporters, and as a movement, we’ve already come so far.
But to ensure all children grow up at a healthy weight we need everyone to work together―we can’t do this without you.
So please, invite your friends to join the movement today!
We can’t wait to see what we can do with double the amount of support!
